Terms of service

The terms that apply when you use Invogital.

Draft for review. This page was written before launch as a placeholder. It will be reviewed by a lawyer, and the details in [square brackets] completed, before Invogital takes paying customers.

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of Invogital, operated by [company legal name] ("we", "us"). By creating an account, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the business you set up.

2. Your account

Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens in your account. You must be old enough and authorised to act for the business you add.

3. Early access and fees

Invogital is currently free during early access. Paid plans may be introduced later. We won't charge you without your agreement, and we'll give at least [30] days' notice before any paid plan affects your account.

4. Your content and responsibilities

You own the information you put into the service. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to provide the service to you, for example to create PDFs and send emails you request.

You're responsible for the documents you issue, including the tax rates, amounts and wording on them, and for meeting the invoicing, tax and record-keeping rules that apply to your business. Invogital is a tool and doesn't provide tax, legal or accounting advice.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to:

  • Issue fraudulent, misleading or unlawful documents
  • Send spam or unwanted messages
  • Try to access another business's data or other people's accounts
  • Disrupt, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service reliable, but during early access it's provided as it is, and features may change. Keep your own copies of important records; reports and documents can be exported at any time.

7. Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or security prevents it. Export anything you need before closing your account.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. [Complete the liability cap and any statutory rights that can't be excluded.]

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page and tell you about significant changes before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes are handled by the courts of [jurisdiction].
